Assume the Worst – Carl Hiaasen & Roz Chast

Intriguing premise from a formerly premier Florida “sunshine state crazy” storyteller and journalist.

Book reviews are here, here, &c.

“The graduation speech you’ll never hear.”

Good premise.

“Self delusion is no virtue.” Page 14.

Correct.

Packed full of tidbits and individual aphorisms pulled together with a narrative thread, and almost every page is adorned with art from — I know the artist from New Yorker cartoons.

“Assuming the worst is best and most promising course.” Page 32.

Personally, I have hope for humankind. Most days. Some days.

Amusing booklet with a intruiging premise delivered.
