Catfishing on CatNet – Naomi Kritzer

Yawn, another YA? But the opening passage was the interior monologue of an AI, so, yeah, that was different. Reminded me of the sentient silicone from the Neuromancer epic canon. Sort of the same school?

I really should read more than few pages before starting to opine.

Not that it has ever bothered me. The blurb was about AI and machine intelligence. See how that works out. Does raise a disturbing question or two.

This is the third or fourth YA novel with frankly sexual overtones, however, nothing more than G-rated material. The last third of the novel moved really quickly.

Valid question, and now, I think I have to go and reread some William Gibson to reacquaint myself with a sentient computer character — albeit more mature in nature and scope.
