Crazy Pig Designs

The images are buried in the older blogs, and I can’t locate them at the moment. Wasn’t much there, just the iconic sign outside a small store-front near Covent Garden. I saw it once, and then glanced through the nascent website — I was sold.

Years and years ago, a certain Sagittarius female told me she would marry me if I bought her an engagement ring that was skull with ruby eyes. A day later in the old Austin hood, east of 35, I found a silver-like skull ring that had red glass eyes — in a dollar store — and I overnighted that ring to the girl. It was amusing.

A few years later, she left a long, drunken message on my answering machine, a monologue from Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida.
That was then.

Many years later, the story cycled back up, and while in London that summer, I stopped by their store, and asked about a skull ring with ruby eyes. Custom made, ready in a few days. Worn it ever since, as it was just fun. Rock and roll.

That guy from ZZ Top and the Rolling Stones all sport skull rings from that one studio. Famous, in a way, I guess.

One buddy’s six-month old daughter, as she’s aged, feigns fear at the sight of the ring. Otherwise? I’ll snatch it up and mime, “Alas poor Yorick…” From Hamlet?

Aries guy, other morning, looked at it and asked where I got it.

“Crazy Pig Designs, in London.”

Did I order it off the internet, or was I there?

“Custom made, while I was there.”
