    That was interesting about that fault line in China. We here in Los Angeles are so focused on the San Andreas Fault, we forget that other places have same/similar situation. We’re due for the Big One any day now.

    Balcones Fault is huge–SA and Austin both. One doesn’t usually associate Texas with fault lines, but obviously one doesn’t know *** about geology.

    Balcones Fault was also an Armadillo World HQ house band.

    As an aside, “The Rift” by Walter (Jon) Williams (usually an SF author), is an excellent read about what happens if the New Madrid fault let loose…
