From one source to a root, about the seven steps to improving a picture.
The first link made me think about a piece of art, I’ve written about it before, an anomaly from Santa Fe (NM). The artist took a picture then printed it on transfer material and ironed the image onto a piece of aluminum. Strange, no connection with anything, but it’s part of the “artistic process,” and that one artist, Aquarius.
Which goes on to illustrate a point about the art and science of “photography,” as I’ve always maintained that the Aquarius seem to grasp the building blocks, the process, of visual art (like photography) better than most. Weird, huh.
I was intrigued because I’ve long-since made the leap to Apple’s Aperture program. I’ve also gotten spoiled with a few casual filters on a phone, and calling it good. Witness the question about the fish picture. Not modified, just filtered on a (n) (i) phone.
So far, I’ve been able to resist the Siren’s Song of excessive photo manipulation. The premise behind the two photo-web-logs, simple, point-and-click, call it good. Spit and post. Especially with the ubiquitous side-project.
The purpose is to make it simpler, not more complex. Have to have an idea about that. Besides, the pictures? Those were for me.
