Urban Decay

City’s center, the decay and renewal, growth and rebirth. So far, on that corner, nothing. Tore it down, and put nothing up. There was a brief moment when the spotlight was on the area, too little, too late.

Or maybe its time had come.

The structure, at one time, was a grocery store. Later, it was famous – or infamous – bar and nightspot.

Like the aforementioned Humble Oils station, the last extant Humble Oils station, the bar was famous, but not famous enough. I never did get the complete backstory, my information is strictly verbal and anecdotal, at best.

Historical footnote, remembered only in fading digital images.
