One Thing: Register4Less.com

Here’s the link: Register4Less.com.

My version? I picked them up from a comic strip ad. I started using them a few years back, and I’ve had nothing but an excellent experience. As a business move, I want to consolidate all my domain names in one place or two places. Easier to manage.

With computers, like many aspects of life, safety is most important. I also believe in separation of church and state, and I like having the domain register separate from the server, in case something breaks. Which, no doubt, it will. I’ve been techie long enough to know that the inter-webs break from time to time. Way it goes. Server crashes. Power outage. Power outage, which leads to a server crash and then the back-up generator is out of diesel. It happens more frequently than you think.

Really.

Who said lightening never strikes twice.

So my money is with Register4Less.com, as there’s this terribly cute added bonus. The “privacy tag” defaults to an address in Laredo, TX. Just down the road from here, just south by a few miles. Cool, and even cooler considering that the company is based in, I believe, Canada.

I started pricing domain registers, like the famous ad with near naked women, and the fast cars, expensive ads, cheap names, correct? There was up-sell at every corner, and to get exactly what I get from Register4Less.com? About the same.

The price for some, like “dot us” – astrofish.net/mrx – names, those were cheaper elsewhere, as was the single “dot co dot uk” – kramerwetzel.com – address. However, the bundles, discounts, add-ons, and associated details, works out to be about the same.

Disclosure.
