Lucky Shot

Adjacent to (arguably the most famous of) Austin’s Dog Parks, along the then Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail, I reached down with a cheap camera, as is my style, and I snapped a few images. Two have survived. This is one. It was entirely accidental in composition and execution. A freak convergence of the Sun, the Moon, the planets, and me, being in the right place that fateful afternoon.

I stuck the camera back in my pocket, and loped on around the trail, towards the eastern terminus, Pleasant Valley, up and over, and back.

Even with better equipment, more detailed and certainly more expensive, I haven’t yet managed another Bluebonnet shot I like as much. That’s part of the magic that’s Austin, well, Austin South of the River….
