Gets to a point, I can remember songs, lyrics, and artists from decades past, but I can’t remember why I walked over here.

Studies have shown that moving from one room to another changes a mental frame of reference, and that is why one can forget where he was going with this.

Sitting across from a certain Capricorn, it was greatly amusing. It was a Chuy’s, the now-national chain with an origin story close to my heart in old Austin, by Barton Springs, go for dip in the holy waters then wander in for an obscene, overloaded plate of delicious food. Best TexMex.

“Duran Duran,” before she had a chance to say anything, “and I still can’t rember why I walked into the kitchen.” Giggles.

There was maybe a decade of music in there, pop, popular culture, pop-pop, pop music from a time when there were culture wars, nascent metal, ending with Hair Metal, I guess. Only apocryphal grunge, summary ska, and token punk. Soundtrack didn’t wander that far.

Every time I nailed the trivia question, I punctuated the response with, “… but I can’t remember why I walked into the kitchen….”
