Luchardores

The original title for that picture’s post? “Miscellany.” How to get “Luchardores” out of that? The image is from a tourist trap vendor, along Piccadilly, almost right across the street from the original Hard Rock Cafe. Not the chain, the first one. Perhaps halfway between Green Park and Hyde Park tube stations?

Sure, and probably an English immigrant selling tube maps, Union Jack adorned gear, and the most popular T-shirt in London, that summer?

Luchadores!

There’s a gym, where the wrestlers train, around the corner from me. Luchadores at the lucheria? While we’re at it, I have utmost respect for the craft. It’s more than good staging, it’s high theater, at its finest. Great stuff. Might be real. I don’t know. My Mexican Language is weak, at best. Drama, violence, mayhem. Sweating men in masks.

There’s some note about the Luchadore Movie(s), but don’t hold me to that, as I’m too lazy to dig up my own references.

No luchadore images have cycled up on the side project, yet. I’m sure they will, as Bexar County seems to have its fair share. Still, that was London. London, England.

The old notes about the site are here.

There also a highly recommended Lucha Libre from Beats Antique.
