The sun comes up
In a coffee cup…. No thank you ma’am, I’ve had enough…

Old, favorite Lyle Lovett tune.

The image was a pure mistake. I was fumbling with the phone, trying to catch some element of Mi Tierra’s interior decorations, and I accidentally snapped that one, too.

Mash it through a series of filters, crop, posterize, polarize, adjust the hue and saturation — all on the phone. If I were true to another Lyle Lovett song, I would be having ‘Huevos Rancheros’ but I tend to opt for the superior “machacado a la mexicana,” instead. Just a personal preference for that place. Breakfast. Served by the overnight crew, because, after all, “Mi Tierra: we never close.”

I’m out late enough to dine with the drunks at 3 in the morning, rarely, if ever, these days. However, before the day shift gets in? The graveyard people are the best.

Given that neighborhood’s propensity for the celebration at the beginning of November? –
