There was a hole, by the side of the road, last time in El Paso, something about an old Levi plant that was long dead, outsourced just hundred yard south, other side of the river, which, in turn, got outsourced from that location to some third-world nation.

I was late to the Levi brand, not totally, but mostly. However, boot-cut 501’s are my all-time favorite. At some point in the distant past, I had a pair of Wrangler Jeans, but the butt is too flat. According to one old girlfriend, I have a fluffy butt. More fluffy these days, due to puffy tacos and homemade flour tortillas. But enough about that.

I started doing readings in San Antonio when a good portion of the population was employees and then furloughed by Levi. I recall a similar tale from El Paso.

As a brand, I’m impressed with the wear. I’ve got some pairs of Levi jeans that are possibly older than girls I’ve dated. Or not, facts a fuzzy.

So far, even though I loyal, I’d prefer the jeans made in America. I still have a few pair like that.

What’s amusing, more so now, it’s just a brand.

These are my books. I would be grateful if you buy one–or more. Even more grateful if you read them. If you enjoy one and tell others, my appreciation would know no bounds.
