Mission

Mission Concepcion is one of the oldest of the Spanish Missions. The Mission’s namesake started in East Texas, along what is now the Louisiana Border, in 1691, and it moved to its current location in 1731.

The image was a ‘point and click’ camera, marginally filtered in the native image program, and long-since forgotten. Popped up as a link, and I forgot how much I like that one picture.

Visually, it reminds me of an old postcard. Not one that’s been deliberately aged, just one that’s been stuck on the rack in a tourist trap for days and weeks, and months, and then, years stretching into decades.

It was a passing fascination. I’ve studied portions of local history, off and on, for so many years, it was just a new spin on an old place.
